Barge, Pontoon and 
Confined Space Surveys

At Marine Sea Services, we undertake full-on hire and off-hire surveys of commercial vessels, dumb barges and pontoons, ensuring that the vessel is off-hired in the condition that it was accepted. Assistance and advise can be given on repairs and costings to enable minimal delay getting the vessel back to an operational standard.

We provide ultrasonic testing using a calibrated Cygnus echo ultrasonic thickness meter, this is used to measure sample plate thicknesses. A visual inspection will be undertaken of the external hull and shell plate, followed by UST testing throughout the wind and waterline and the wetted sections of the hull. A comprehensive external report will be issued with advice and recommendations.

We carry out internal inspections of main holds, fore and aft peaks can be undertaken. We assess any damage to the barge structure, inclusive of fittings and any other equipment that is installed. A comprehensive external report will be issued with advice and recommendations.
